Outlook stuck updating cached messages
Configuring Outlook with multiple POP3 or IMAP accounts is dead-easy and very beneficial when it comes to handling multiple accounts.
At backend the main thread starts syncing every item with multiple accounts in Send/Receive process.
A big change is that when running in Cached Exchange Mode, Outlook 2013 will only cache 12 months’ worth of data from the Exchange server by default!
This is part of the new Sync Slider feature, which allows users to limit the number of e-mails that are synchronized locally into the OST.
For us it's important to send messages "on behalf of" and not "sent as", so using the "Add Account" function in Office 2010 doesn't seem to be the solution for us.To do so, complete the following steps: Be sure to back up any existing emails or transfer to an offline location before making this change.Replacing the root folder can possibly cause the loss of saved emails in the account.Users will be able to view messages that were removed (or not synced) by scrolling to the end of an e-mail list in a folder and clicking the message Click here to view more on Microsoft Exchange.Note that this setting does not affect the number of items synchronized in Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Journal and Notes.
